Wine Trade Squash whitewashed by Lensbury Club

02/11/2016

We had a tough assignment against the Lensbury club last night with 3 close 5 set matches for seeds 1, 2 and 3. Most notable were the fine efforts of our number one Peter, who came back from 2-0 down to narrowly lose out in the fifth after a bruising hour on court! Frustratingly the evening finished in a whitewash.

The wine of the evening chosen by the Lensbury boys was Chateau Capbern Gasqueton 2012. It proved to be an early drinking claret, deep ruby/plum/purple with sweet black cherries, blackcurrants and spice and gentle tannins. A well-made St Estephe which will undouble drink well for the next 10 years.

Now onwards and upwards to our forthcoming fixture against John Lewis at Lord's next Tuesday 8th. If you are able to play please let me know before Friday when i'll send out the team selection.
